WHAT IS BATTERY MANAGEMENT
SYSTEM (BMS)?
Battery Management System (BMS) is a battery device specifically designed for battery monitoring and management, which is used to provide protection to the battery, detect battery operation status, optimize battery performance and self-test and early warning of battery failure.
BMS FUNCTIONS
BMS functions will be determined based on the needs of the battery, and the general design and capabilities are:
HOW IT WORK?

-
In addition to basic circuit protection, the BMS can collect and save all the data of the battery in real time, and transmit data to the outside world through the communication module to realize remote operation of the battery.

-
The BMS can also monitor the battery power, energy and voltage in real time and display it to the user accurately and efficiently. And it can support current parameter adjustment, making the battery more compatible and customizable.

-
BMS detects and obtains the current, voltage, and health status of each cell in the battery pack. It integrates all the data and then calculates the required input/output current to limit overcharging and discharging, thus protecting the battery and extending its life.
WHY NEED BMS?
Battery Management Systems (BMS) are essential for battery health and life, as well as a vital part of battery electrical and thermal management.
The battery will encounter many challenges during use. BMS will provide full real-time protection during battery operation to ensure that the battery is always operating within safe limits and in optimal condition.
Without a BMS
Overcharge or Over-discharge:
Overcharging and over-discharging can damage the battery and have a great impact on the battery life.
Battery Short Circuit
Short circuits inside and outside the battery can cause the battery to heat up dramatically and damage can occur.
Supercritical temperature
High temperature can cause thermal runaway of the battery and even fire.
